Google has been consistently updating its Mobile Apps and the Android OS itself with better features and capabilities. recently they have launched HoneyComb version Android 3.0 in CES 2011 and launched Android GingerBread version Android 2.3 which features a excellent and improved keyboard for Android Mobile Phones. Till now the new Keyboard was available only for Ginger Bread users, but not any more.
GingerBread Keyboard is now available as a independent App from Android Market and its available for free. This is not official launch from Google, but it has been ported by individual App developer to Android 2.2 Froyo users.
- Install Keyboard from Android 2.3 from the Android Market.
- Once installed, click Menu > Settings > Language and Keyboard
- Select “Gingerbread Keyboard” and edit settings to your preference
- Go to a place where you would enter text (Gmail, SMS, Notepad, etc.). Long press on the entry field and tap “Input method”
- Select “Gingerbread keyboard” and start typing
