I recently posted related to the success of MeeGo OS on Nexus S smartphone and its whole process of how it can be installed from a rootfs image on the internal memory, without even flashing the phone and to add to its success stroughtonsmith has brought us some amazing news yet again. It is Ubuntu OS this time which has successfully been booted on Nexus S using the same technique. The following is the guide to install Ubuntu on Nexus S:
- Grab a copy of Ubuntu for HD2
- Take the rootfs.ext2 file and drag it to your Nexus S smartphone and put it in a folder called ‘ubuntu’
- Use fastboot to boot (this boot img)
- ADB push this file to /etc/X11/xorg.conf
- Finally, reboot Ubuntu
