Huawei introduced IDEOS X5 at CES 2011

Chinese company Huawei at CES 2011 officially unveiled its new model of Android smartphone IDEOS X5 , Android OS 2.2 based thin model with a range of pre-office applications.
New IDEOS X5 from Huawei offers an opportunity to work with file formats, like Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe PDF. In addition, IDEOS X5 supports high-speed data transmission technologies like HSPA and Wi-Fi 802.11n.

The main characteristics of Huawei IDEOS X5:

  • Display: 3.8-inch touchscreen display with support for multitouch technology
  • Entry screens using SWYPE
  • Dimensions: Slim design – only 11.4 mm thickness
  • Camera: 5 megapixel camera with LED-backlit display and support for HD video (720p)
  • Multimedia features: FM-radio, support for audio technology SRC, Adobe Flash Player 10.1
  • Communication: HSPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, GPS
IDEOS X5 will be available to residents of Singapore, Hong Kong and New Zealand this month. In the U.S., this product goes on sale in mid-2011.
