Facebook has redesigned the layouts for selecting friends to invite to an event.
Now when you click on “invite friends,” the resulting window shows more contacts, each with smaller thumbnail images.
Clicking on “search by name” brings a drop down showing one’s networks, friend lists and groups. The previous incarnation of the invitation window allowed you to invite everyone on a particular friend list, but not groups or networks. We’ve yet to ascertain whether the network option would make an invite visible to people outside of one’s own friend list but who happen to be in the same network, be it alumni, professional or geographically-based.
Readers, have you tried out the new event invitations, and if so, what do you think of the upgraded layouts?
Props to Robert Lani for the tip.
